Conduct of Students

Every student shall wear clean and suitable clothing.

Every student shall salute the Professor on the occasion of his first meeting for the day within the college precincts.

When a gentleman or a lady visits the college, the students at work in any class room shall stand as soon as he or she enters it.

On the Professor of the hour entering the class room, the students shall stand and remain standing till they are desired to sit or till the Professor takes his seat.

No student shall leave the class room without the permission of the member-in-charge of the class or until the class is dismissed.

Students who may have no class to attend during any particular hour on a working day shall go into the Reading Room.

Students shall not take part in any agitation directed against the authority of Government or engage themselves prominently in any public movement with which it is undesirable that persons in statu pupillar should be associated.

In regard to all matters not specified in the foregoing rules, students shall aim at conducting themselves in a manner thoroughly worthy of the alumni of the college and of the University and in harmony with the best traditions of our life and culture.

Cases of improper behavior or default in the matter of payment of college fees dues will be visited with such disciplinary action as the Principal may deem fit.

The Principal may frame and issue from time to time disciplinary rules of a permanent or temporary character regulating the conduct both inside and outside the college precincts of students on the rolls so far as such rules seem necessary to maintain the credit, usefulness and reputation of the college.

The Principal shall have full power to inflict the following punishments in the interests of the students or the institution: Fines, loss of attendance. Loss of term certificate, suspension and expulsion.
Rules of Attendance

No student will be allowed to absent himself from the college without leave.

Leave for full days, if necessary, will be granted only when an application for leave stating the reason is submitted to the Principal, signed not only by the student but also by his father or guardian.

Residents of the Hostel should obtain the counter signature of the Warden in their leave applications, after representing to him in person the need for leave.

In cases of illness extending to more than three days the Principal may require the production of a medical certificate.

A student who absents himself from the class during any hour of the day without leave will be considered as having been a absent without leave for half-a-day and shall lose one days’ attendance. He is also liable to be fined.

A student who absents himself without leave partially or completely during both the forenoon and afternoon sessions of a day will be considered to have been absent without leave for the whole day and shall lose two days’ attendance and shall also be liable to be fined.

Students who attend the class during the first hour, if they have to leave their class during a subsequent hour or hours for valid reason, should obtain the permission of the lecturers concerned on written applications for leave, presented in person. Other-wise, their absence will be treated as truancy.

Students who infringe these rules will be fined as follow:-
1. Absence without leave for full day.
2. Truancy during individual hours.
3. Absence during forenoon or afternoon. -
Of a student is absent for Five working days without leave, his name will be struck off the rolls unless the Principal is satisfied that the failure to obtain leave was unavoidable.

Attendance will be taken during every hour of work. Students coming late will be fined.

The annual certificate of attenance required for admission to the University examination will in no case be granted unless,
1. The student’s progress and conduct have been satisfactory.
2. The student has attended 75% of working days in the academic year.
